They also got to see and hear the speech of global superstar, singer, and songwriter Taylor Swift, who was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by the university. Vice President Leni Robredo took a video of her daughters Aika, Tricia, and Jillian as the speaker announced the awarding of the Honoris Causa Doctor of Fine Arts Degree for Swift. “Swifties that we all are, having Taylor Swift as Grad Speaker was the best gift. So, when she was about to be awarded with her Honoris Causa Doctor of Fine Arts Degree, Jillian left her seat to go to where we were seated to savor the moment with us,” the Vice President said in a Facebook post on Thursday, May 19. “We were lucky to have good seats. Still very far from the stage but good enough vantage point,” she added. The more than three-minute video showed her three daughters pointing their cameras at the makeshift stage where Swift was and gushing at the same time. Jillian was even seen getting teary-eyed as the singer came into view. On many occasions, Robredo shared being a Swiftie, even dancing to the hit song “22” during a visit to Cebu province in November last year.
