Navotas City logged its lowest number of active coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases for 2022 on Tuesday, May 17, the local government said.
Currently, the city has three Covid-19 positive patients.
“Our sacrifices and continued vigilance have paid off. Congratulations to us all. Let us keep our defenses up. Continue to practice the health and safety protocols, and complete your vaccination, including your booster doses,” incumbent Mayor Toby Tiangco said in a statement.
For five consecutive days, the city had zero daily case reports.
“Now that the Department of Health has confirmed the local transmission of the more contagious Omicron sub-variant, we must be more cautious and work harder to limit its possible spread and prevent any more surges,” Tiangco said.
