Outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo and her daughters have arrived in New York, United States to attend the commencement exercises of her youngest child Jillian at the New York University on May 18.
Back to being a mom, Robredo posted a photo of her ironing Jillian’s toga in preparation for the NYU’s graduation rites on Wednesday.
“First order of this trip: ironing Jillian’s toga,” she captioned the post on her Instagram story.
Her youngest daughter is graduating from NYU with a double degree on Mathematics and Economics.
Like she has always done, the Vice President is now fulfilling her mother duties after the recently concluded May 9 elections.
Robredo is far second behind former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. based on partial and unofficial elections.
With a 16-million lead over runner-up Robredo, Marcos is expected to be proclaimed the winner of the 2022 presidential race.
The Robredo family will be gone for a week to take a much-needed break after the grueling 90-day campaign aside from attending Jillian’s graduation.

“We will be gone for a few days to just spend time with family and take a well deserved rest before all of us restart the lives we have put on hold,” the Vice President said in an earlier Facebook post.
Robredo added that their current trip is the first time “as a family with no work to take care of” since her late husband former Interior secretary Jesse Robredo died in 2012.
