Padilla, Legarda continue to dominate top two spots in Senate race (Sabong News)

Actor Robin Padilla and Antique Rep. Loren Legarda remain the top two placers in the May 9 polls senatorial race.
The partial, official tally of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) released Sunday, May 15, showed Padilla on number one spot after garnering 25,856,168 votes.
Legarda is on second place with 23,614,960 votes.
On third place is Raffy Tulfo with 22, 801,648 votes followed by Sherwin Gatchalian with 20,052,418 votes.
Chiz Escudero is on fifth spot with 19,784,560 votes followed by Mark Villar with 18,927,520, Alan Peter Cayetano with 18,743,575, Miguel Zubiri with 18,153,807 votes.
Occupying the ninth to 12th spot are Joel Villanueva with 18,058,632 votes, JV Ejercito with 15,428, 651, Risa Hontiveros with 15,016,708 and Jinggoy Estrada with 14,693,932 votes.
The result was based only on 149 certificates of canvass.
The NBOC is set to canvass 173 COCs which include overseas absentee voting.
It was on May 10, when the Comelec en banc, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) started officially canvassing votes for senators and party-list groups.
The Comelec is eyeing to proclaim the 12 winning senators on Tuesday, May 17.
