PPCRV’s second batch of ER validation produces 98.39% match (Sabong News)

An official of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Saturday, May 14, said that the poll watchdog’s second batch of election return (ER) validation produced a 98.39 percent match rate.
PPCRV spokesperson Atty. Vann dela Cruz, in a press briefing held Saturday afternoon, said that as of 5 p.m. on May 13, 2022, they have so far received a total of 45,135 physical ERs. Out of those received, 30,727 have been encoded.
Meanwhile, these fully-encoded ERs underwent validation and only 30,235 physical ERs have matched the electronically-transmitted results.
“The difference of 492 is accounted [for] as follows: 49 have not yet been compared because our system does an automated process, meaning it will be processed in the next batch. 203 have no electronically-transmitted ERs. This means that we already have the pre-transmission copy but no electronically-transmitted copies have been received yet. 240 of these physical ERs that have already been encoded, are for re-validation,” said Dela Cruz.
Revalidation means that the ERs will be reviewed and reprocessed again manually. This, according to Dela Cruz, is a normal occurrence and it is a part of the validation process.
This match rate only includes about 28.5 percent of the country’s ERs.
