To help people cope with post-election stress, a group of Twitter users have been hosting a Twitter space, where several government officials are being impersonated.
The Twitter space #MahalAngMagmahal went trending worldwide on Thursday night after Vice President Leni Robredo’s impersonator, “VP Leni Labrador” and President Duterte’s, “President Diggie,” graced the space that was listened to by around 63,000 people.
The voices of Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte were also impersonated by the talented individuals, who went by the names of “Mayor B. Kho Juice” and “Mayor Joy Dishwashing Liquid” and “Mayor Joy del Monte.”
The space, also called #DogShow, rose to fame after a screen recording of it went trending on Twitter and TikTok, where impersonators of Duterte and Robredo exchanged kind words with each other.
At the height of his term, Duterte repeatedly hit Robredo, who was also a critic of the administration, especially in its Covid-19 response.
What further entertained the space’s listeners was when “VP Leni Labrador” sang Nica del Rosario’s “Rosas” and when “President Diggie” performed Gab Valenciano’s “Ang Presidente Bise Presidente,” Robredo’s famous campaign song.

There were also exchanges of jokes in the space that wittingly tapped various social issues, including the rampant red-tagging.
“Hindi po kami nang-re-red tag dito. Ang red tag lang po namin ‘yung mga sale dito sa QC (We’re not red tagging here. The red tag that we only know is the sale in QC),” Belmonte’s impersonator said.
The space, hosted by @factbuddymoto and @altstarmagic, was launched after the conduct of the 2022 elections.
In initiating the creation of space, the hosts said they wanted to “relax” the minds of the people, particularly the supporters of Robredo, as her main rival, Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is presumed to be the winner of the polls.
The space airs from 9 p.m. to 12 midnight.
