P14-M worth of smuggled cigarettes intercepted in Zamboanga (Sabong News)

ZAMBOANGA CITY — Some P14-million worth of smuggled cigarettes were seized in Barangay Culianan, Zamboanga City on Sunday, May 1.
The smuggled cigarettes in 400 boxes were on board a ten wheeler truck which the military and police Intelligence operatives intercepted along the Maria Clara Lobregat Highway.
Authorities also apprehended truck driver Jose Dichoso Goodwill y Villarin, and Ryan Jalis Comidoy, the truckman.
The suspects along with the seized items and the vehicle were turned over to the Bureau of Customs -Zamboanga City port for disposition.
The operation was led by Regional Special Operations Unit-9 (RSOU-9), Regional Intelligence Division and Regional Intelligence Units, Philippine Air Force Intelligence, Zamboanga City Police Station 4 and the Customs Police.
