Lady Gaga has announced that the theme song for the movie “Top Gun: Maverick” entitled “Hold my Hand” will be launched on Tuesday, May 3.
“When I wrote this song for ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ I didn’t even realize the multiple layers it spanned across the film’s heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in,” Lady Gaga shared in her tweet.
The “Shallow” singer wrote the song with Hans Zimmer, Joe Kosinski, Bloodpop, and Ben Rice. She also thanked Tom Cruise for allowing her to write a song for the movie.
“This song is a love letter to the world during and after a very hard time. I’ve wanted you to hear it for so long,” she added.
Top Gun: Maverick stars Tom Cruise reprising his role as Navy aviator Pete “Maverick” Mitchell. The story runs when Maverick confronts the ghosts of his past, which will put him in a challenging position that will affect his mission. (Carissa Alcantara)
