Manila logs zero occupancy rate in Covid-19 quarantine facilities (Sabong News)

Following the waning number of Covid-19 cases in Manila, the city health office logged a zero occupancy rate in their quarantine facilities as of Friday, April 29.
In his Capital Report on Friday, Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, said all beds in the quarantine facilities are unoccupied.
In the city’s six district hospitals — Ospital ng Maynila, Ospital ng Sampaloc, Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital (JJASGH), Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center, Ospital ng Tondo, and Sta. Ana Hospital, the occupancy rate was four percent as of April 29.
The consolidated bed capacity of the six district hospitals is 353, 14 of which are occupied.
In the Manila Covid-19 Field Hospital, 29 out of 344 beds were occupied, logging the occupancy rate at 8 percent as of April 29.
The mayor said that the National Parks Development (NPD) has given the local government extended time to use of the Luneta park as the site of the Manila Covid-19 Field Hospital, which offers its services to residents and non-residents of Manila, as well as overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Overall, the city recorded 45 active Covid-19 cases as of April 29, with 111,951 recoveries and 1,906 deaths.
Around 535,000 individuals have received their first booster shot.
The city health office recorded 288,589 doses administered to minors aged 12 to 17, with 140,266 becoming fully vaccinated.
Under the vaccination program for children ages five to 11 years old, a total of 104,802 doses were administered, making 46,699 kids fully vaccinated.
Domagoso urged citizens to continue being vigilant and following the minimum public health and safety protocols in order to further reduce Covid-19 cases in the city.
The city’s overall vaccination program for adults and the pediatric age group are ongoing, as well as the booster shot programs for transport workers and delivery riders.
The 24/7 booster shot drive-thru at Luneta Park is also still open, having administered jabs to 82,128 individuals.
He also said the city is prepared and well-equipped for a potential surge in Covid-19 cases in May, as projected by the Department of Health (DOH).
