Actress Jodi Sta. Maria “approves” one of the “The Broken Marriage Vow” spoofs made by digital creator Allan “AC” Soriano.
Recall that recently, the latter remixed some of Jodi’s iconic dialogues in the show, including “Your daughter is sleeping with my husband” and “Papunta pa lang tayo sa exciting part.”
During the online press conference for “The Broken Playlist: Broken Marriage Vow Digital Concert,” Jodi admitted being amused by it.
“Nakakatuwa because it was actually popularized by AC and gumawa siya ng sarili niyang remix nung ‘Your Daughter is Sleeping with My Husband’ and then in-edit niya na ‘papunta na tayo sa exciting part’ and it was actually siya lang actually yung gumawa ng lahat ng yun,” she excitedly shared.
According to her, she was actually able to talk to AC. The latter even asked her if she could watch the performance.
“So nag-stay up ako until 11 p.m., way past my bedtime, and pinanuod ko yung performance niya and sobra akong natuwa, sobra akong naaliw, sobra akong nagalingan sa kanya,” she related.
“So nag-send ako ulit ng message na kino-congratulate ko siya. Kasi siya lang mag-isa eh. It was a one-man show. Siya lang talaga gumawa lahat, costume changes niya siya lang. Yung music, yung editing na ginawa niya for the videos na ginamit niya, siya lang talaga. So I just told him to keep making people happy with what you’re doing. So thumbs up ako dun sa ginawa niya. Nakakatuwa talaga,” she added.
But more than anything, Jodi reiterated that the credit should be given to the writers of the show.
“I would say na nakakatuwa na yung isang simpleng linya magiging viral siya, magiging meme siya, gagawan siya ng parody or spoof. Nakakatuwa din. Dapat siguro yung credit din ibigay dun sa writers kasi sila naman talaga yung nakaisip nung linya na yun. Kumbaga ako lang yung actor na nag-deliver ng line,” she pointed out.
“I will not take all the credit for that because I’m just one part of a whole. We have to remember na it’s not just me working doon sa eksena. We have to remember that ako ay isang aktor na mag-de-deliver ng isang linya na sinulat ng isang writer. It’s really the whole team working together to make something na tatatak or ma-re-remember ng audience,” she reiterated.
She thinks their show getting notice all boils down to its story being “relatable.”
“Nangyayari siya talaga sa totooong buhay. May mga sighalot o pag-aaway ng mag-asawa na nakaka-apekto hindi lang sa kanila pareho kundi sa anak nila at sa mga taong nakapaligid sa kanila. I think yun din yung reason kung bakit nagiging relatable and connected yung mga tao kasi one way or another, nakikita nila yung sarili nila dun sa isa sa mga karakter na pinapalabas sa ‘The Broken Marriage Vow,'” she said.
“Nakakatuwa din kasi alam natin na medyo mabigat yung tema ng istorya pero ang mga Filipinos talaga very creative and lagi tayong may paraan kung paano natin ipapagaan ang isang bagay. I think by creating mga memes and mga spoofs na ginagawa nila, napapagaan ang isang temang mabigat. And also, nakakatulong siya sa pag-spread ng awareness na meron palang show na ganito.”
In terms of what fans could expect on their upcoming digital concert this April 29, 8 p.m. via KTX.PH, she shared: “Sa concert not only they will get to see our singers perform but they will also have the chance to see some of the behind-the-scenes footages, yung mga never before scene makikita din nila yun.”
She added attendees will also get to mingle with the performers and the cast during the after party.
Note that aside from Jodi, lead stars Zanjoe Marudo, Sue Ramirez, and Zaijian Jaranilla will also be present.
They will also be joined by the singers who performed songs in the series’ soundtrack – Angeline Quinto, Kyla, Morissette, Jona, Gigi de Lana and Fana.
According to Jodi, their digital concert celebrates the phenomenal success of their show.
