Sylvia Sanchez tells kids Arjo, Ria: ‘Respect the seniors’ (Sabong News)

Being a stage mother doesn’t suit Sylvia Sanchez well. In a recent interview for her latest series “Misis Piggy” for iWantTV, the award-winning actress said she never scouted projects for her children actors Arjo Atayde and Ria Atayde. “Kaya kong manghingi ng favor sa ibang tao pero para kay Arjo at Ria, ayoko. Gusto kong kunin sila dahil nakitaan sila ng galing hindi dahil sa pinush ko. Mahirap yung parents nila ay artista kasi yung mga anak mo na artista under din sila sa shadow namin,” Sylvia said. “Akala kasi ng lahat, kapag anak ka ng artista, easy lang na makapasok ka sa pag a-artista at ibibigay na sa’yo lahat.” Sylvia always reminds her kids to solidify their acting experience. “Lagi kong sinasabi sa kanila na puliduhin ninyo yung foundation ninyo dito sa industriya, yung pag-arte nila. Doon ako nakatutok sa kanila,” she said. Sylvia said that she appreciates it more when people tell her that her kids are better actors than her. Beyond acting, Sylvia teaches her children to be professional and respectful to their peers, especially the seniors. “Makisama kayo at maging professional. Huwag kayong pasawa at mayabang. Huwag ninyong sasabihin na kesyo anak kayo ni Sylvia Sanchez,” she said. Sylvia added: “Then sasabihi nila Ria at Arjo minsan, mommy nakakahiya kasi. Nahihiya kami.” “Ano ang mas nakakahiya, yung dadaan-daanan ninyo ang mga seniors or yung mag-i-introduce kayo ng sarili ninyo? “Sabi ko kay Ria at Arjo na nahihiya kayo na babati sa seniors, mas nakakahiya yung hindi ninyo sila lalapitan. Yung hiya-hiya na yan, sorry pero para sa akin, ang word na yan ay  bulxxxx.” “Mas nakakahiya yung ang ingay-ingay nila tappos andyan yung mga seniors na hindi nila binabati. “Kahit ako kapag may nakikita akong seniors, bumabati ako. Respeto ‘yun eh. Dun pumapasok ang pag ka nanay ko. Kapag may narinig ako na hindi kayo (Ria at Arjo) bumati, humanda kayo,” Sylvia warned her kids. After “Misis Piggy,” Sylvia said that she will rest until the end of the year. “Kailangan ko talaga magpahinga after this (Misis Piggy) hanggang December. Next year uli. Sunod sunod eh.
