Police arrest 18 illegal gamblers, 3 dog meat traders in Bulacan (Sabong News)

Police arrested 18 illegal gamblers and three dog meat traders in separate operations in the province of Bulacan on Sunday, April 24.
Based on a report sent to Col. Rommel J. Ochave, acting Bulacan police director, 18 persons were caught engaging in illegal cockfighting games in San Jose del Monte City and San Rafael town.
They were arrested by operatives of San Jose Del Monte City police, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), San Rafael Police, and 301st Regional Mobile Force Battalion 3.
Confiscated from the illegal gamblers were dead and live fighting cocks, gaffs, scratch pens, a motorcycle, a tricycle, and bet money in different denominations.
Meanwhile, members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and San Ildefonso Police, together with personnel of the Animal Kingdom Foundation, arrested three alleged dog meat traders during an entrapment operation.
Police identified the arrested suspects as Jonathan Caraig alias “Otan”, Richard Burlas, and Elizaldy Labador, all of Barangay Sumandig, San Ildefonso.
They were arrested for violation of the Animal Welfare Act and Republic Act 9482 (Anti-Rabies Act).
Recovered from the suspects were seven live “asong Pinoy” (aspin) which are being sold for meat trade, and two dead dogs, police said.
