Philippines' Oto and The Curator make it to Asia’s Best Bars list (Sabong News)

Ahead of its 2022 announcement of the top 50 bars in Asia, The World’s 50 Best Bars unveils its 51-100 list. According to its release, the ranking is created from overall Asia’s 50 Best Bars voting process and comes as part of 50 Best’s strategy to shine a spotlight on a greater number of hospitality establishments across the region.
“In 2021 we decided to extend the Asia’s 50 Best Bars ranking to include more bars that deserve to be recognized for the remarkable drinking experience they provide their guests,” Mark Sansom, Director of Content for Asia’s 50 Best Bars, says. “We continue that tradition for the second year in our endeavor to support the region’s bar industry as it emerges with extraordinary resilience from the pandemic’s struggles and challenges. As countries open up and gastronomic travel resumes, it gives us great pleasure to recommend double the number of establishments that visitors should seek out and experience. To be able to reference 24 different cities across Asia can only be a good thing.”
Its extended list includes two Philippine bars, Oto and The Curator, taking the 63rd and 62nd spots, respectively. Co-founded by David Ong, the two Makati City-based bar and cafe concepts are returning entries, with The Curator ranking at no. 38 and Oto taking the no. 61 placement in

The seventh edition of Asia’s 50 Best Bars, sponsored by Perrier, will be announced on April 28. The live ceremony and run-through of the list will begin at 7.30 p.m. local time in Bangkok (6 p.m. in India, 8.30 p.m. in Singapore/HK and,9.30 p.m. in Japan), culminating with the announcement of The Best Bar in Asia.
