The easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean will continue to bring hot weather in the entire country in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Wednesday morning, April 20.
Most parts of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy conditions because of the easterly winds.
In its extended weather outlook for key areas from April 21 to 24, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 32-33 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 33-34℃ in Tuguegarao City, 23-24℃ in Baguio City, 30℃ in Tagaytay City, 32-33℃ in Puerto Princesa City, 32℃ in Metro Cebu, 32℃ in Metro Davao, and 32-33℃ in Zamboanga City.
PAGASA, however, said there remains a possibility of afternoon or evening rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.
It advised the public to stay vigilant during severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and gusty winds that usually last up to two hours, as these may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Weather specialist Grace Castañeda said that based on the latest forecast, PAGASA has not monitored a weather disturbance that may affect the country in the next few days.
