RCBC reaps back-to-back International Awards in Q1 2022 (Sabong News)

The Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC) closed the first quarter of 2022 with back-to-back international recognitions.
Last 8 March 2022, the Yuchengco-led universal bank was named as the Outstanding Digital Banking Service Provider and Best Innovation Management Team in the Philippines by the Global Business Review Magazine Awards 2022. Then on 18 March 2022, RCBC was named the Best Digital Bank in the Philippines by the 2022 World Economic Magazine Awards.
The Global Business Review Magazine Awards studies companies from different sectors from banking, finance, insurance, real estate, leadership, and technology. This global recognition aims to reward exceptional business performance and service delivery in the said fields.
The US-based World Economic Magazine Inc. provides business intelligence through timely financial news on global markets, focusing on banking, technology, and infrastructure. It recognizes the most dynamic, disruptive, innovative, progressive, engaging, and trailblazing banks and non-bank institutions that go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service while employing effective environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies.
“The immense growth of RCBC’s digital platforms continue pushing the limits of inclusive digital finance in the country. We are humbled and inspired by all the recognition we are receiving from the world stage,” according to Eugene S. Acevedo, RCBC President and Chief Executive Officer.
RCBC has pioneered some of the latest innovations in inclusive digital finance in the Philippines. It supported the full rollout of the person-to-merchant (P2M) option for the national quick response standard dubbed as the QR Ph P2M. The system uses a quick response code (QR Code) to securely transmit a person’s payment details to facilitate a transaction faster, and more seamlessly.
The bank streamlined the onboarding process for prospective DiskarTech customers, allowing them to use any of the 18 valid primary and secondary IDs in registering their DiskarTech accounts.

We make sure everyone can get on-boarded into the digital space with ease, and that transactions can be performed faster and more seamlessly,” said RCBC Executive Vice-President and Chief Innovation & Inclusion Officer Lito Villanueva as he notes that the awards were a testament to the bank’s responsive, customer-centric, and digital-first policy.
