Most parts of the country are expected to continue to have generally fair weather in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Monday, April 18.
As of Monday morning, the northeasterly surface wind flow, or slight breeze coming from the northeast, continued to prevail over the extreme portion of northern Luzon.
However, most of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
In its extended weather outlook for key areas from April 19 to 22, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 31-33 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 33-34℃ in Tuguegarao City, 23-25℃ in Baguio City, 29-31℃ in Tagaytay City, 32℃ in Puerto Princesa City, 31-32℃ in Metro Cebu, 33-34℃ in Metro Davao, and 32-33℃ in Zamboanga City.
PAGASA, however, still advised the public to stay vigilant during severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and gusty winds that usually last up to two hours, as these may trigger flash floods or landslides.
PAGASA said there is a slim chance of a low pressure area or tropical cyclone development inside the country’s area of responsibility this week.
