Northeasterly surface wind flow affects extreme N. Luzon — PAGASA (Sabong News)

The northeasterly surface wind flow or slight breeze coming from the northeast will continue to prevail over the extreme portion of northern Luzon in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, April 17.
PAGASA also said that partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will persist over the entire country.
In its extended weather outlook for key areas from April 18 to 21, PAGASA said that maximum air temperatures may reach 32-34 degrees Celsius (℃) in Metro Manila, 32-34℃ in Tuguegarao City, 24-25℃ in Baguio City, 31-32℃ in Tagaytay City, 32℃ in Puerto Princesa City, 31-32℃ in Metro Cebu, 33-34℃ in Metro Davao, and 32-33℃ in Zamboanga City.
However, PAGASA advised the public to stay vigilant during severe thunderstorms, which are often associated with bursts of heavy rainfall, lightning, thunder, and gusty winds that usually last up to two hours, as these may trigger flash floods or landslides.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja said there is a slim chance of low pressure area or tropical cyclone development inside the country’s area of responsibility this week.
