Miss Universe Philippines Bulacan 2022 Aidyl Sanchez shines wearing a Hollywood-inspired look (Sabong News)

Apart from its numerous festivals, Bulacan is known for its jewelry-making heritage thanks to its skilled craftsmen. Much like the pieces they produce, Aidyl Sanchez, Bulacan’s representative to the Miss Universe Philippines 2022 pageant, didn’t fail to dazzle everyone with her show-stopping arrival look last April 9 at the Hilton Hotel during the pageant’s press presentation.
Designed by Yue Santiago, the dress takes inspiration from the glamor of Hollywood. According to him, he crafted the dress in just one day, and to take it to the next level, he added pearls and stones to the sequinned textile he got from Bahrain. The result is something truly stellar.
“Doing that dress is a bit challenging for me because I don’t really work with sequinned fabric,” Yue tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “I’m a minimalist designer but in this case, I need to do something that will make Aidyls standout. I think the dress reflects her personality. Like her, it is simple but when it’s time for the show, she shines like a diamond.”
Working with Aidyl, for him, is an easy and stress-free experience. While his design skills and the way the beauty queen carried the dress made it a true style moment, the designer owes its success to the trust they both have in each other.
“The dress is a fruit of our collaboration since she gave me her trust to do everything and handle everything for her,” the designer muses. “Trust is the best connection between two people who want to create something great.”
