With its ‘big gains’, Robredo asks volunteers to intensify house-to-house campaign (Sabong News)

With its ‘big gains’, Robredo asks volunteers to intensify house-to-house campaign
Author Raymund Antonio
Date APRIL 10 2022
After the Holy Week break, the campaign team and the volunteers of Vice President Leni Robredo will buckle down to their campaign as the presidential bet asked her supporters on Sunday, April 10, to knock on more doors and gain more support for their cause. Robredo reported that feedback from her volunteers has been positive, noting the high conversion rate of the house-to-house campaign launched by the team this April. “After ng (the) Holy Week, continue po house to house kasi kailangan natin mag (because we need to) double time,” she told supporters via Facebook live. “Yung (The) experience naman ng mga nagha-house to house natin sobrang (of our house to house is super) effective ng (of) conversion so kaya natin ‘yan basta tulong tulong tayo. Malaki po ‘yung (we can do that as long as we help each other. We have big) gains in the last month. Sigurado ako mas mag-i-intensify ‘yung (I am sure we will intensify the) gains natin today na naka all hands on deck tayo (that we are all hands on deck),” Robredo added. Candidates are not allowed to campaign on Maundy Thursday (April 14) and Good Friday (April 15). While her grand rallies are “okay” and everyone is invited to join them, the Vice President stressed that the real campaigning happens on the ground. READ: Her latest rally in San Fernando, Pampanga drew a mammoth crowd of 220,000, the largest of any candidate this campaign season. Incidentally, Pampanga is a home turf for Robredo’s rivals with it being the bailiwick of ex-President and Pampanga Rep. Gloria Arroyo, who was responsible for bringing together the UniTeam tandem of former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. “But apart from the rallies, mas maganda po ‘yung nag-ha-house to house tayo. Hindi lang ‘yung pagbigay ng flyers, kung hindi ‘yung tunay na pakiusap dahil ito lang ‘yung paraan para mapalitan natin ng katotohanan ‘yung lahat ng kasinungalingan (it is better if we do house to house. It’s not only giving away flyers, but truly engaging them because this is the only way for us to change the lies with the truth),” she said. “Dapat ma-engage natin mga kababayan natin na kung ano ‘yung mga nakakarating sa kanilang balitang hindi totoo. Dapat i-debunk natin ‘yun lahat (We need to engage our countrymen that whatever news that reaches them is not true. We need to debunk all of it),” Robredo added. Her campaign team is not the only one doing house-to-house. Even celebrities like Angel Locsin, Donny Pangilinan, Mylene Dizon, Rica Peralejo, Marjorie Barretto, Sam Concepcion, and other local celebrities joined the on-the-ground campaigns. Robredo’s survey numbers jumped from 15 percent in February to 24 percent in March, according to Pulse Asia.
