Police raid drug den in Leyte, arrest six high-value individuals (Sabong News)

TACLOBAN CITY – Six high-value individuals were arrested as police authorities dismantled a drug den at Sitio Thru-cut, Brgy Sto. Rosario, Matag-ob, Leyte on Friday.
PMaj J-rale Paalisbo, Leyte Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit Chief, identified the suspects as Anastacio Taripe Jr., (maintainer); Gilbert Merin (co-maintainer), Allan Licardo (co-maintainer); Porferio Torillas (co-maintainer); Edgardo Merin (visitor); and Randy Abad (visitor). All are residents of said town.
Authorities seized eleven sachets of shabu weighing 31.6 grams with an estimated market value of P215,000 and various drug paraphernalia.
Reports disclosed that the operatives were able to confirm the existence of the drug den after a series of surveillance.
The operatives then instructed a poseur buyer aided by a confidential informant to buy alleged shabu from Taripe on Wednesday night, before the raid was carried out.
Cases for violations of Sections 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, 26-A, and 26 par. B, Article II of RA 9165 or the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the suspects who are temporarily detained at the Matag-ob Municipal Police Station Detention Facility.
