Back in the 1970’s, fashion heritage brand Levi’s released their Fresh Produce collection that features colorful vegetable prints as the hero of their apparel line. Paying homage this 21st century, it revisits this collection from 50 years ago.
This time, instead of bright colored hues, the pieces are dyed using natural sources that includes plants and botanicals. Conscious of the importance of sustainability, plant-based dyes and dyeing techniques are implemented in this season’s collection. Natural-based dyes are lighter in hue and more earth-toned, to be exact, which is why their spring/summer ’22 pieces are filled with fresh, light shades of green, pink, blue, and yellow.
“We are excited to debut our Levi’s® Fresh collection, a vibrant mix of super soft tees, fleece, and denim made with natural dyes and water saving techniques. Taking inspiration from our archives, we infused each piece with youthful energy borrowed from the original ‘70s Levi’s® Fresh Produce line. It’s a fun, plant, and mineral-based, planet-friendly collection rooted in essentials and infinitely covetable,” says Chief Product Officer at Levi’s Strauss & Co Karyn Hillman.
Our top picks include a refreshing pair of pink pants for men’s, an oversized denim jacket with puffed sleeves in yellow for the ladies, a purple anorak, and relaxed pair of cotton shorts in green that’s meant for lazy days ahead this summer—be it in the city or at the beach.
