Coach Pumaren heaps praise on rookie forward Galman (Sabong News)

De La Salle head coach Derrick Pumaren commended rookie forward Emman Galman for stepping up to the challenge in helping the Green Archers return to the win column.
Pumaren was all praises to the prized recruit after posting 13 points built on three triples on a 5-of-10 shooting to go with three rebounds as a starting forward.
“Emman stepped up to the challenge. I have to challenge him and talk to him that he’s gonna start today,” said Pumaren after De La Salle’s 75-66 win over University of Santo Tomas at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City Tuesday, April 5.
Before joining the Taft-based squad, Galman had suited up for the Perpetual Junior Altas in the NCAA juniors division.
Last Season 95, the 6-foot-3 forward averaged 17.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals as Perpetual finished with a 7-11 record.
Pumaren is hoping that Galman will use this momentum as a springboard to further build up his confidence in the senior’s league.
“He was able to perform and hopefully he continues to build that confidence and to really fight it out there. Sometimes nag-relax kasi si (Sometimes he would tend to relax) Emman but so far, he’s done a great job coming in starting and he gave us a really good start,” said the De La Salle tactician.
The Green Archers, who improved to a 4-1 record, will next face the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons on Thursday, April 7 at 10 a.m. ###
