The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has expressed readiness for the start of overseas voting for the 2022 polls on April 10.
“We are 100 percent prepared already. Everything is set. All the embassies or consulates are ready,” Comelec Commissioner George Garcia said in an online forum Sunday, April 3.
“Two of our commissioners are abroad to observe the training of embassy officials and staff. It’s all systems,” he added.
Garcia said 80 percent of the poll paraphernalia and supplies that will be used have already been deployed to the Philippine embassies and consulates.
“By tomorrow, I will ask for an update. And I am almost sure that it is already 100 percent deployed since voting starts next week,” he said.
The Comelec has set the overseas voting from April 10, 2022 to May 9, 2022.
There are 1.6 million registered overseas voters for the 2022 elections.
