The red-hot RSG Philippines has extended its win streak to seven following its dominant sweep of ECHO, 2-0, to seize the top spot of the MPL Philippines Season 9 standings on Saturday, April 2.
RSG has never lost a series since March 6 or the third week of the regular season which allowed them to amassed a league-best 27 points on a 10-2 win-loss record, dethroning ECHO, which dropped to second after the loss with 25 points on an 8-4 slate, from the top of the league ladder.
The Raiders showed exactly why they are the hottest team right now in the league as it cruised to an easy 15-5 win over ECHO in the series opener.
A clash for the first turtle set the tone for RSG as it scored an early four-man wipe of ECHO to take 5-2 kill lead. RSG then dominated the next few team fights to fully take control of the match.
RSG’s lead was evident in a huge clash in the midlane as a Kagura Yin-Yang Overturn and Esmeralda Falling Starmoon provided the perfect initiation. That allowed them to take down ECHO carry heroes in Karltzy’s Dyrroth and BennyQT’s Lunox and secure an uncontested 12-minute Lord
RSG ended the Game 1 in the next Lord siege as Demonkite spearheaded the attack with a 4-1-9 KDA on the Baxia while Aqua and Light provided support with a 5-0-8 and 1-2-14 rally on the Kagura and Rafaela respectively.
RSG showed no let up in Game 2 as Demonkite dominated his jungle battle against counterpart Karltzy. He ran wild on his Karina finishing with a 6-1-9 KDA while Emann had a 7-1-7 line on the Beatrix.
However, it was Light on his signature Khufra who pulled off the biggest plays for RSG as he provided the perfect setups, allowing his carry heroes to freely dish out the damage against ECHO.
Light took the MVP honors of that match with a 2-1-13 line as RSG utterly destroyed ECHO, 19-9, to take the series win.
