Omega boosts playoff bid with dominant sweep of NXPE (Sabong News)

Omega Esports snapped its four-game losing streak with a dominant 2-0 sweep of Nexplay Evos and get the much-needed points to boosts its playoff hopes in the MPL Philippines Season 9 on Saturday, April 2.
Omega zoomed past Blacklist International and took the sixth spot of the standing after upping its points total to 13 following the full three points it got from the sweep of NXPE.
It now has a 4-8 win-loss record while Blacklist slid down to the seventh spot with 12 points and Bren Esports fell back to the bottom of the standings with 10 points.
It was a hard-earned sweep for Omega as NXPE was also eager to take the series win to formally punch their ticket to the playoffs.
Christian “Raizen” Sumagui however had other plans in mind as he showed the way for Omega, unleashing a deathless display in Game 1 with a 10-0-4 KDA before putting up and equally impressive 6-2-3 line in Game 2 both on jungle Paquito picks.
Omega was dominant from start to finish in Game 1 as Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog on the Hilda disrupted the jungle rotation of John Paul “H2wo” Salonga’s Karina. With the NXPE jungler falling behind early, Raizen wreaked havoc and quickly reached his power spike to dominate the team fights.
NXPE tried to drag the match to the late game where its composition anchored on Jeniel “Yellyhaze” Bata-anon’s Cecilion and Mariusz “Donut” Tan’s Clint are known to strive but Omega would not be denied as it took the series’ first blood after the 17-9 Game 1 win.
It was pretty much the same story in Game 2 if not a much cleaner execution from the last season’s third placers.
Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcase on the roaming Masha tried to disrupt the jungling pattern of Raizen’s Paquito but the ploy backfired on NXPE as Omega, with the help of Renz “Renzio” Cauda’s Dyrroth and Ch4knu’s tank Chou scored two early kills on RENEJAY.
That once again set the table for Raizen to seize control of the map, starving H2wo’s Karina his resources.
Omega went on to dominate team fights and even the slightest skirmishes to cruise to a wire-to-wire 13-2 win in the series clinching game.
Ch4knu provided support with a perfect 0-0-8 line while Renzio had a 4-0-6 line on the Dyrroth.
