Three people died in a fire that razed 50 houses in a residential area in Taguig on April 2.
According to the Taguig City Fire Station, the blaze engulfed houses on Sta. Barbara Street in Barangay Calzada, Taguig at 9:49 a.m.
The fire station said the fire started at the residence of Obdulia Delos Santos and spread to other houses.
Investigators identified the fatalities as 33-year-old Ivy Berde, Chris Vynyrd Mata and Chris Jhayvien Mata.
Delos Santos, 62, was injured.
About 50 houses were burned affecting 100 families or about 150 individuals, the fire station said.
Damage to property was put at P350,000.
The second alarm was raised at 9:56 a.m.
The fire was put under control at 11:03 a.m. and put out at 11:59 a.m.
The fire station is investigating the cause of the fire.
A total of 44 fire trucks and three ambulances responded to the incident.
