“Money is the root of all evil.”
This is what is tackled in “Greed,” Nadine Lustre’s comeback movie.
During a recent press conference, the 28-year-old star shared how she fell victim to a greedy person, an ex-“friend” who took advantage of her trust.
“So everyone was telling me na she’s a social climber, na dumidikit lang po sa amin because may pangalan po kami and she also wants to get on the train, so eventually, like, she would get projects din, mga – yung posting, kasi she’s an influencer for mga posting, because she’s hanging out with us,” she shared.
It turned out the friend is a thief.
“There was this one time na I had money in my room and biglang nawala po yung pera,” she related. “It so happen na she was the only one who went inside the room.”
Later, they found out the same person has been stealing from their other friends as well.
“So I guess, that’s totally greed.”
Nadine’s love interest, Diego Loyzaga, then interjected, encouraging Nadine to name the person.
But she reiterated: “Ayoko. Wag na. Okay na yun. Tapos na.”
More than anything, Nadine has learned her lesson.
“I guess be wise with picking the people you surround yourself with. Especially for someone who is in the industry or someone who’s like us, mahirap kasi hindi po lahat ng tao na nakapaligid sayo mapagkakatiwalaan,” she said.
Nadine maintained how her “trust” has been broken so many times.
“It’s really heartbreaking kasi these are people that I used to be close to and people that know everything about me. So medyo nakakatakot po kasi ngayon na hindi ko na sila nakakasama or hindi ko na sila nakakausap, we don’t know kung ano po yung sinasabi nila about me or kung anong na sha-share nila sa ibang tao. So kailangan po talagang mag-ingat.”
The story of Nadine’s first-ever Vivamax Original movie will revolve around a couple who hit it big in the lottery. They will try to make a quiet exit from their sleepy, little town; however, things won’t go as planned.
The gripping thriller, directed by the critically-acclaimed director Yam Laranas, will premiere April 8 only on Vivamax.
Also in the cast are Epy Quizon, Krissha Viaje, and Jacq Yu.
