Aksyon Demokratiko Chairman Ernest Ramel on Friday, April 1, lashed at Senator Imee Marcos for calling the camp’s appeal for the payment of the Marcoses’ P203-B estate tax as “bulok na taktika (rotten scheme)”.
“Senator Imee Marcos, mas marami po kayong bulok na taktika na dineploy the past few years. Yun ang pinakabulok sa lahat, yung pagsi-sinungaling po ninyo, yung ayaw niyong pag-ako sa mga responsibilidad ninyo, yung karuwagang harapin ito sa publiko. Lagi po kayong attack -pulitika lang po yan, fake news lang po yan, bulok po yan (Senator Imee Marcos, you have more rotten tactics deployed in the past few years. That is the most rotten of all, your lying, your unwillingness to take on your responsibilities, your cowardice to face it in public. You always attack -it’s just politics, it’s just fake news — it’s rotten),” Ramel said in a press conference at the Isko Moreno Domagoso for President headquarters in Intramuros, Manila.
“Ang bulok yung nagtatago po kayo sa katotohanan. Ang bulok yung mga kalokohan na pinapakalat niyo sa social media. Yun po ang kabulukan, Senator Imee Marcos (It is rotten that you are hiding the truth. The nonsense that you spread on social media is rotten. That is rottenness, Senator Imee Marcos),” the chairman added.
Senator Imee Marcos on Friday, April 1, questioned the timing of the revival of her family’s estate tax issue and blamed “rotten politics” for it.
She said her family had already asked the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) and the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for clarification on the actual amount of their tax liabilities.
Imee, however, said her family has yet to receive any letter from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR). demanding payment for the said estate tax debt of the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso has been repeatedly appealing to the Marcoses to pay the P203 billion estate tax debts, saying these could be used as “ayuda” for Filipinos affected by the pandemic.
