If there is a time to be truly vigilant, it is today April Fools’ Day. While its exact origin is still to be discovered historians believe that this infamous holiday stems back to 1582, “when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar,” according to History.com. This shifted the celebration of New Year’s Day from April 1 to January 1. People fail to remember the change became the target of jeering and were dubbed “April fools.”
While people now know when is the right date to give others their best wishes for the new year, the spirit of humor is still alive during the first day of April with everyone pulling pranks and jokes for some good laughs.
