Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula will lead the Solidarity Mass for the Moral Choice’ to pray for a clean and honest elections on May 9.
Archdiocese of Manila Chancellor Father Isidro Marinay in a circular said, the mass is in response to the request of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines in its pastoral letter Be Concerned about the Welfare of Others.’
“Our bishops exhort us to ‘continue praying, doing good to our neighbor, offering sacrifices and begging God for the grace of a credible, peaceful and successful election for our common good’,” read part of the circular.
The Solidarity Mass will be held on April 6 at the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help or Baclaran Church in Paranaque City at 9:30 a.m.
Members of the clergy, the religious and lay groups under the Metropolitan Province of Manila will attend the mass.
CBCP President, Kalookan Bishop Pablo Virgilio David will deliver the homily.
The Church continues to call on the more than 60 million Filipino voters to vote wisely and to choose God fearing candidates with a heart for the common good.
