HP is introducing their newest gaming laptop, Victus. Under the hood, this gaming laptop is powered by AMD’s Ryzen 5 5600 H, which is clocked at 4.2GHz and is backed by an NVIDIAGeForce RTX 3050 (or 3060) for graphics. It features a 512GB SSD, which promises speedy boot ups, a 16-inch QHD screen with a 165Hz refresh rate and a 178-degree viewing angle, a wide-angle webcam, and speakers from Bang & Olufsen. Ports include an HDMI 2.1, a Type C USB, three Type A USBs – one of which is for charging, microSD slot, and an AC Smart pin.HP boasts an upgraded cooling system and a backlit keyboard. Pre-installed on the laptop is the OMEN Gaming Hub, HP’s internal software that lets you adjust fan speeds, lighting and accessory controls to optimize your gaming experience.HP promises the Victus, running with Windows 11 Home, can last approximately up to 13 hours. It includes fast charging, which HP says within 30 minutes you can get from zero battery to 50%. That does sound pretty handy when being on the go. For students, office workers, and aspiring writers, the Victus does come pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student 2021 – and that’s a big plus.
