Clarense “Kousei” Camillo was happy to deliver a victory for RSG Philippines in his MPL debut after he took the place of injured gold laner Eman “Emann” Sangco in the main five.
Kousei, known for his gold lane mage picks way back in Season 7 when he was still with Work Auster Force, showed a different facet of his game with two consecutive Beatrix picks in the 2-0 sweep of Bren Esports.
He unloaded a perfect 7-0-3 line in Game 1 before following it up with a 7-3-2 tally in the second game.
“Masaya pa naman pero di pa ito yung pinakamalakas,” said Kousei who watched from the sidelines in the first five weeks of to season before finally getting the chance to suit up for his new team in Week 6.
According Kousei, Emann figured in a freak accident and hurt his wrist, making him unavailable for the match against Bren
“Nainjure yung right wrist ni Emman, sa banyo nadulas. Okay naman, di naman siya malala pero di siya makapaglaro ng maayos,” explained Kousei.
Aside from him, veteran player Kenneth “Kenji” Villa also made his MPL Season 9 debut for RSG with a bang scoring a triple kill in the final moments of Game 1 using his Dyrroth before taking the MVP honors with his EXP lane Hylos in the series clinching game.
“Every week naman po binibigyan kami ng chance ng coach namin. Monday, Tuesday iyon po yung variation test namin ipagmimix po yung mga players tapos after po dun kukunin kung sino yung pinaka consistent then yun po yung maglalaro sa MPL,” shared Kenji.
Even with a different sidelanes, RSG showed the same grit and motivation in the match as it extended its hot streak to four straight games.
“May deal kasi kami ng RSG, gusto namin magkakateammates magkakasama for Season 10 ang kailangan namin abutin Top 2 para mangyari yun,” explained Kousei.
