Are you looking to fulfil your dreams or change your career and become an airline pilot? European flight training organisation CADETPILOT.AERO is opening the time-limited window for applications for their Sponsored Programme for Filipino citizens, as announced on Thursday, March 3, 2022.
The programme aims to select motivated Filipino individuals who will undergo a 52-weeks course, which will take place in Prague, in the middle of Europe. The company, in return, promises a guaranteed airline pilot job after graduation from the programme, as the reimbursement of the training cost takes the form of future salary deductions.
“We are very pleased that we can introduce our new programme to the Philippines, especially as the world is recovering from the pandemic and airlines are resuming their recruitment activities,” said MrPatrik Dvorak, training manager. He is responsible for the instruction of future airline pilots.
The sponsored programme is the answer to a looming pilot shortage knocking on the door of many airlines worldwide. From the talks we have with the airlines, a significant number of them are facing the shortage now, added Mr. Dvorak. He also predicts that sponsored programmes may become more common, as a massive number of talented individuals cannot afford the initial financial investment into the pilot career, and the airline industry simply cannot afford to lose these candidates.
The programme does not require applicants to have any specialised knowledge or prior flying experience. The only requirements are to have Filipino citizenship, be at least 18 years old, hold a high school diploma, and pass the assessment process designed to identify the talented, but most importantly, motivated candidates. “Studies and even our experience shows that most candidates fail the training because they lack the motivation. This is reflected in our assessment process, which was not designed to look for the high IQ, but rather for the right set of skills and motivation,” added Mr Dvorak.
Candidates who wish to apply for the programme should visit www.cadetpilot.aero, where they can fill the application until April 30. CADETPILOT.AERO does not expect to open the applications for Filipino citizens again in less than five years. According to Mr Dvorak, the company sees very high demand from different markets around the world, with India stated as an example where the recruitment drive for the future pilots should take place in the second half of this year.
