SAN JUAN, Batangas — Aksyon Demokratiko standard bearer Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Friday, March 25, rejected calls for other candidates to withdraw from the presidential race to let Vice President Leni Robredo win in the upcoming polls.
“Sila lang ba may monopolya ng kaalaman sa paglilingkod sa bayan (Are they the only ones with a monopoly of knowledge in serving the people?)” he said in an ambush interview here.
While he admitted that the presidential race was hard, Domagoso pointed out that what the country needed right now was a “crisis manager”.
“Good luck. Ok lang ako at hindi ako nagkukubli sainyo ha (I’m not hiding anything from you), mahirap ang laban ko. Kasi nga coming from the outside ako, pero sa dami ng krisis na kinakaharap natin sa buhay ang kailangan natin crisis manager (My fight is hard. Because I’m coming from the outside, but in the midst of the crisis we face in life, we need a crisis manager),” he said.
“Sa dami ng krisis na pinagdaanan ko sa buhay, bilang bata, hanggang maging mayor, dahil sa pandemyang ito. Tingin ko, in my own little way, I can offer something na tayo maka-recover as soon as possible (With the amount of crisis I went through in life, as a child, until becoming mayor, because of this pandemic. I think, in my own little way, I can offer something that we can recover as soon as possible),” the Manila mayor said.
Domagoso and the Aksyon Demokratiko slate are currently in the province of Batangas as part of their campaign sortie.
