Qualified solo parents in Navotas City have received financial assistance from the city government on Tuesday, March 22.
The “Saya All, Angat All Tulong Pinansyal ng LGU ng Navotas para sa mga Solo Parents” is also part of the city government’s series of pandemic recovery programs.
“We want to extend as much help as possible to Navoteño solo parents because we know they are one of those who were severely affected by the pandemic. We hope to give them the means to provide for their families, especially now that the expanded face-to-face classes have started and the prices of basic commodities have increased,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said.
Over 200 Navoteños who applied and renewed their solo parent identification cards each received a P2,000 cash subsidy.
“The program will run for the whole year to accommodate all qualified solo parents in the city. To be included in the list of beneficiaries, solo parents must apply or renew their IDs and be validated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office,” Tiangco said.
Navotas, through City Ordinance No. 2019-17, further provides indigent solo parents with P1,000 educational assistance every school year.
