The NBI identified the arrested suspect as Chinese national Zhang Yang Ming, also known as “Mike.”
It said the suspect was arrested during an entrapment operation conducted by NBI’s Anti-Fraud Division (NBI-AFD) at his office at the Interpretacommunication Services last March 17.
“NBI-AFD operatives were able to recover from the Subject marked money and various documents pertaining to business permit of said company,” the NBI said.
The suspect was charged before the Department of Justice (DOJ) in Manila with violations of Section 4 (e) of Republic Act No. 9208, the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, as amended by RA 10364, the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012, in relation to R.A. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

The NBI said the operation was conducted based on reports that “Filipino women who seek local employment as receptionists for Chinese-owned KTVs and restaurants end up being offered by Chinese bosses as personal assistants to Chinese clients.”
It said that it learned from Ming that the “women they offer can be hired on a short or long-term basis as personal assistant doing all the things that a girlfriend or a wife should be doing with their partners, including unlimited sex.”
During the operation, Ming presented to undercover NBI agents three women and told them that “they can have the women of their choice for 30 days for a fee of P100,000,” it added.
