Members of K-pop boy band P1Harmony have tested positive for Covid-19 while on tour in the US, resulting in the postponement of the remaining shows.
Production company SubKulture Entertainment announced on March 22 that there was an outbreak of Covid-19 resulting in P1Harmony members and staff being diagnosed with the disease.
They are in the US for their 2022 P1Harmony LIVE TOUR P1ustage H:PEACE tour.
Except for Intak, those who have been diagnosed with Covid-19 are Theo, Keeho, Jiung, Soul and Jongseob. Intak tested positive for Covid-19 in South Korea in February.
“Due to a sudden outbreak, staff and the P1Harmony members (excluding INTAK) have tested positive for COVID. As a result, we are deeply regretful to announce that the rest of the 2022 P1Harmony LIVE TOUR P1ustage H:PEACE in USA shows must be postponed,” the company said in a statement.
It added, “Once we confirmed everyone’s results and discussed with artist management, all parties concluded that postponing would be the most appropriate response to such a high-risk situation.”
P1Harmony started their US tour on March 10 at The Town Hall in New York City followed by March 13 at Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C., March 16 at The Fillmore Miami Beach in Miami, Florida, and March 18 at 713 Music Hall in Houston, Texas.
As a result of the Covid-19 infection among P1Harmony members and staff, the remaining tours will be postponed. P1Harmony were supposed to hold the tour in Chicago on March 20, Denver on March 23, San Jose, California on March 25 and Los Angeles on March 27 and 28.
“We hope you can understand that there are multiple parties involved in a tour like this, including artist management, production. venues, etc:so we ask for your kind patience as we navigate these abrupt changes and find ways to adjust in light of these developments,” SubKulture explained.
It added, “Additionally, it’s come to our attention that there is misinformation spreading online due to unconfirmed/inaccurate information being posted without our knowledge/consent. Please note that all official postponement updates and details will be shared on SubKulture Entertainment’s official website and socials first. We advise all P1ece to look to our official channels for the most updated and accurate information.”
“We’re aware that some P1ece have taken time off and arranged travel for these shows, and that these postponements may cause a huge inconvenience for their plans. We also recognize how disappointing and frustrating this situation may be.and we relay our deepest apologies to all the P1ece who were looking forward to the shows. We want to assure you that action was taken immediately, and we moved with utmost urgency in sharing the news as soon as we were able to,” it said.
SubKulture said while it enforced Covid-19 safety protocols and provided hand sanitizers and masks for unmasked concert-goers, it was “unable to force certain venue staff members to stay masked during our events due to local mandates being lifted (which we have no control over as they are imposed by the state).”
