Five ‘tupada’ goers nabbed in Benguet (Sabong News)

Mankayan, Benguet — Five individuals were arrested for engaging in illegal cockfighting activity or ‘tupada’ in Barangay Paco, Mankayan, Benguet.
Col. Reynaldo Pasiwen, provincial director of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, said the quick response of the Mankayan Police Station has resulted in the arrest of suspects Arnecio Aplota Balian Sr., 66; Arturo Lopez Gayongan, 68; Myrick Capuyan Sungayab, 42; Leander Degyem Bukang, 59; and Jomar Neri Perez, 35.
According to reports, a concerned citizen on Sunday called Mankayan MPS to complain about the ongoing illegal cockfighting activity in the said place.
Operatives immediately proceeded to the identified place and caught the suspects. Two live fighting cocks were seized during the operation.
The suspects are now facing charges for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602 or the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law.
Meanwhile, as the result of the continuous marijuana eradication, three separate marijuana plantation sites were discovered and eradicated P190,000 worth of marijuana plants in Barangay Poblacion and Tacadang, iKibungan, Benguet on Monday.
