‘Squid Game,’ Lee Jung-Jae, Jung Ho-yeon win at 2nd Critics Choice Super Awards (Sabong News)

Netflix’s global hit Korean series “Squid Game” and its stars scored wins at the 2nd Critics Choice Super Awards.
This is a second win for Lee Jung-jae just days after winning best actor in a drama series for “Squid Game” at the 27th Critics Choice Awards held on March 13. “Squid Game” also bagged the Best Foreign Language Series.
The 2nd Critics Choice Super Awards honored “the most popular, fan-obsessed genres across both movies and television, including Superhero, Science Fiction/Fantasy, Horror, and Action.”
Lee Jung-jae won best actor in an action series for “Squid Game” while co-star Jung Ho-yeon won best actress in an action series. “Squid Game” was awarded best action series.
“Thank you to all the fans and viewers of Squid Game. When we were working on shooting all the games, there were some pretty challenging action scenes and also we had a lot of fun. But receiving an award like this makes it all the more meaningful. Thank you all so much and you’ll look forward to season 2,” said Lee Jung-jae in his video acceptance speech.
Jung Ho-yeon said, “I’m so very happy to receive this Critics Choice Super Award. I want to share this joy with our Squid Game family. As for me, I’m going to continue to experience more, take it step by step, and grow into a better actor.”
“First, I want to thank you so much for honoring our show with the Critics Choice Super Award for Best Action Series. The fact that critics enjoyed our show, on top of our wonderful global fans, I’m so very honored. I’ll receive this as a gesture of encouragement to make an even better second season and an even better show,” said “Squid Game” director and writer Hwang Dong-hyuk.
