Six persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) who had served their jail terms have been released from the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro.
In a statement, SPPF said it “believes that the PDLs freed last March 17 are renewed and reformed persons who are ready to sojourn and live again in a free community.”
“The immediate discharge of the PDLs who have served their sentences is part of the advocacy of Director General Gerald Q. Bantag thru the support of CCI Joel M. Arnold, acting superintendent of SPPF,” it said.
It also said the freed PDLs were given transportation allowance, briefed during interviews, and given referral letters addressed to their respective local government units (LGUs).
