The number of jobless Filipinos fell to 2.93 million in January this year despite stricter quarantine restrictions, data from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) showed on Friday, March 18.
Unemployment rate settled at 6.4 percent during the month, lower than the 7.4 percent recorded last October and the 8.8 percent registered in January last year.
In October 2021, the PSA estimated that there were 3.5 million unemployed people in the country and 3.96 million in January last year.
