Two of the five suspects involved in the alleged kidnapping, illegal detention, and robbery of a Philippine Air Force (PAF) personnel were arrested in a manhunt operation on Wednesday afternoon, March 16.
Lt. Michael Mase, officer-in-charge of the Marikina City Police Station (CPS) and leader of the Task Force Greyhound operation, identified the suspects as Marvin Bratteng, 40, and Erica Albano, 28.
Mase said the victim, a PAF personnel (name withheld), was allegedly kidnapped in October 2020 in front of SM Marikina in Barangay San Roque, Marikina City after agreeing to a meet-up with Albano whom he met online.
According to the victim, the suspects introduced themselves as members of the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP).
The five suspects abducted the victim and brought him to Bulacan using the latter’s car.
The suspects stole his government-issued firearm and his wallet before travelling back to Marikina City. They dropped him in an area in Barangay Tumana.
Afterwards, the victim reported the incident to the authorities.
Bratteng and Albano were arrested by the police on Bayan-bayanan Avenue in Barangay Concepcion Uno, Marikina City by virtue of a warrant for kidnapping and serious illegal detention (Revised Penal Code (RPC) Art. 267) and for robbery with violence or intimidation of persons (RPC Art. 294).
