5 members of K-pop group Verivery test positive for Covid-19 (Sabong News)

The surge in Covid-19 cases in South Korea continued to affect the entertainment industry with five members of K-pop boy band Verivery testing positive for the virus.
In an announcement on March 16, Jellyfish Entertainment said, “Verivery’s members Kangmin, Gyehyeon, Minchan. Yeonho and Hoyoung have tested positive for Covid-19 via PCR [polymerase chain reaction] testing on March 16th, 2022.”
“Verivery has committed to testing themselves via self-test kits and rapid antigen tests prior to attending every schedule until now, and have confirmed their positive results via PCR testing after having tested positive for Covid-19 through rapid antigen tests,” the agency added.
It said that “every member of Verivery has already received their 2nd Covid-19 immunization shot and are all currently without any particular symptoms. As a result, Verivery is currently in self-quarantine, suspending all schedules, complying with quarantine authorities’ guidelines.”
Dongheon and Yeongseung tested negative but are under self-quarantine and checking their health status.
Last Dec. 17, Verivery’s Youngseung tested positive for Covid-19 in Ohio while the group was in their first US tour.
As a result, all the remaining shows of Verivery in Cleveland, Ohio; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and New York City, New York were canceled.
Youngseung recovered in the US and was released from self-isolation on Dec. 27. He flew back to South Korea.
On March 16, South Korea recorded 400,741 new cases, the highest daily tally since the pandemic started in 2020, to bring the total confirmed cases to 7.62 million due to the Omicron variant.
