The Code Breakers are coming to the Rift as Blacklist International co-owner and Tier One Entertainment executive Tryke Gutierrez revealed his plans to put up a team that would compete in League of Legends: Wild Rift professional scene this year.
Tryke, together with Tier One co-owner and celebrity Alodia Gosiengfiao, revealed the development through a vlog published on Monday, March 14.
“Kung ako dream ko Dota (team), matagal na niyang kinukulit ‘yung Blacklist Wild Rift team. This year, it’s happening,” said Tryke.
Without going into details, Tryke also shared that the organization already has a partner in its bid to put up another championship caliber team following its world championship success in other esports titles like Call of Duty: Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
“Ang catch dito meron pa kaming partner dyan, di pa namin pwedeng i-announce pero meron kaming partner for the Blacklist Wild Rift team so this is something na I think that the community has been waiting for,” he added.
The Tier One’s esports division has been dominating the professional scene in the country with its Mobile Legends team that already captured two MPL Philippines title and the M3 World Championship.
Blacklist Mobile Legends team led by its star players Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” Villaluna and Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario will also represent the country in the upcoming 2021 Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, its CODM team, Blacklist Ultimate also ruled the CODM World Championship Eastern Finals and had recently won the inaugural CODM Garena Masters 2022. Blacklist also has a Malaysian team for survival shooting game Garena Free Fire.
“Let’s see na lang kung sino yung magiging team natin. Pero wala pa kaming ineexpect na team for the record pero ang sinasabi naming dito is we’re gonna have a team this year,” he clarified.
The Wild Rift scene in the country has gained some popularity since Team Secret finished fourth in last year’s Wild Rift crowning tournament Horizon Cup. Riot Games, the Wild Rift’s game developer is also hosting its own league in the country in WCS Philippines where popular esports organization like Team Secret, Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ Philippines) and Team Pacquiao GG (Team UNDRGRND) are currently participating.
“Sa mga Wild Rift players, diyan look out and magpasiklab na kayo dahil it’s time to break the code.”
