A total of 3,609 of the 3,916 Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) personnel who work in seven prison facilities nationwide had been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 as of last March 14.
Ninety more workers have received their first dose while 798 others had gotten their booster shots, BuCor said in a statement.
The New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City has the highest number of personnel vaccinated with 2,077.
The Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City had 137 personnel vaccinated; the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, 219; the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga City, 290; the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan, 250; the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP) in Abuyog, Leyte, 198; and the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF) in Davao del Norte, 528.
Earlier, BuCor said that 57 percent or 27,879 of the 48,576 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) in its prison facilities had been fully vaccinated as of last March 14.
In a statement, BuCor said that at the NBP fully vaccinated were 10,115 PDLs; CIW), 3,283; SPPF) 2,369; SRPPF), 1,570; IPPF, 1,829; LRP), 2,027; and DPPF, 6,131 and its CIW, 555.
A total of 19,345 PDLs had received their first dose against Covid, it said.
