Mangrobang, Casares qualify for 2022 World Games in duathlon (Sabong News)

Kim Mangrobang and Fer Casares qualified for the 2022 World Games in Birmingham, Alabama in July after finishing third and sixth in the 2022 Asian Duathlon Championships in Bahrain over the weekend.
Mangrobang clocked 2 hours, 12 minutes and 29 seconds for the bronze medal behind Netherlands’ Karin Nieuwenhuijsen (2:09:57) and Australia’s Aleisha Wesley (2:11:42).
Casares, for his part, timed 1:53:49 – just a little over a minute behind eventual winner Ayan Beisenbayev of Kazakhstan (1:52:48).
It was a close fight to the finish line in the Elite Men with Australia’s Samuel Mileham finishing second in 1:52:49, Thomas Cremers of Netherlands in third (1:53:17), Moussa Karich of Bahrain in fourth (1:53:31) and Matt Smith of Australia in fifth (1:53:47).
The World Games, now on its 11th edition, is a multisport event meant for sports, disciplines and events that were not contested in the Olympics.
Duathlon is among the 30 official sports that are included in this year’s edition.
