369 barangay tanods, CVOs undergo 2-day PROTECT training in Paranaque (Sabong News)

A total of 369 barangay tanods and members of civilian volunteer organizations (CVOs) in Paranaque City have completed their training as police multipliers who will help in maintaining peace and order in their respective communities.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez thanked National Capital Region Office (NCRPO) director Major Gen. Felipe Natividad and Southern Police District (SPD) director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg for their assistance in the training of the city’s barangay tanods and CVOs as peacekeepers in 16 barangays in the city.
Olivarez said the participants received their certificate of completion for the NCRPO’s project called Patrolling and Response Operations Training (PROTECT) to empower tanods and CVOs last Friday (March 11) held at the Don Bosco covered court in Barangay Don Bosco, Paranaque City.
The NCRPO said the PROTECT project aims to boost the capabilities and confidence of barangay force multipliers and CVOs in the performance of their duties in maintaining peace and order in the community.
Olivarez said during the activity that tanods and CVOs had helped the police in conducting patrol around the city during the surge of Covid-19.
He said that since the National Capital Region is already under Alert Level 1, it is expected that more people will be on the streets.
