The roster of the PBA 3×3 first conference champion Limitless App Masters will officially represent Gilas Pilipinas in the men’s 3×3 event of the Vietnam Southeast Asian Games.
Brandon Rosser, Marvin Hayes, Jorey Napoles and Reymar Caduyac were named by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas as the squad that will aim to retain the gold in the halfcourt edition of the biennial meet this May in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Rosser, Hayes, Napoles and Caduyac got the nod after a recent meeting between Philippine Olympic Committee president Bambol Tolentino, SBP officials and PBA commissioner Willie Marcial during the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
Marcial said he suggested sending the Limitless squad
following a late surge that included victories in the final two legs and the Grand Finals.
Limitless continues to do well in the ongoing second conference, but has yet to get a leg title after settling for a fourth place finish and a third place showing in Legs 1 and 2.
Gilas 3×3 will feature Rosser, who has shown his energetic side since the inaugural conference, and the hardworking 37-year-old Hayes, the top-ranked PBA 3×3 player and sixth among Filipino cagers.
Napoles is going to be tasked to produce his versatility while Caduyac has been effective with his playmaking and defensive skills.
The SBP is opting to go with a PBA 3×3 side compared to 2019 when it took the gold of the inaugural event with CJ Perez, Chris Newsome, Mo Tautuaa and Jason Perkins.
