Vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte said Thursday afternoon, March 10 that some of her supporters feel hurt for being “cancelled” on the mere basis for there support of the UniTeam.
The UniTeam refers to the tandem between Duterte and her May 2022 poll partner, Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer Bongbong Marcos.
“Lagi pong hinanakit ng mga supporters (What always hurts our supporters) is that they are boycoted or cancelled kapag (if) they go all out for Marcos-Duterte. So ang sinasabi ko lang din sa mga supporters (So what I tell my supporters) if they cancel you or if rhey boycot you, throw bread; be kind,” Duterte explained in a chance interview.
She said that her advise to her supporters is in line with the Biblical passage, “Kapag ikaw ay binato ng bato, batuhin mo sila ng tinapay (If they cast stones at you, throw bread back at them.”
But the 43-year-old lady official’s version of the adage uses not just bread, but a burger.
