The government’s pandemic task force has decided to place Iloilo City under Alert Level 1, joining 39 other areas in the same risk classification level until March 15, Malacañang announced.
In a statement, Communications Secretary Martin Andanar said the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases made the decision on Thursday, March 10.
Iloilo City’s new alert level classification will take effect immediately until March 15.
The acting Palace spokesman said the IATF decided to place Iloilo City under Alert Level 1 because the city met the criteria for the de-escalation.
“The IATF approved the de-escalation of Iloilo City to Alert Level 1 after meeting the prescribed criteria for de-escalation to Alert Level 1 of the sub-Technical Working Group on Data Analytics,” Andanar said.
Iloilo City joined the National Capital Region and 38 other areas in Alert Level 1.
